UK Adventures FAQs

  • What are your booking terms and conditions?

Please click here to see our terms and conditions.

  • Do you provide risk assessments?

Yes, we will provide you with a full Health and Safety pack, which includes our risk assessments and insurance documentation.

  • What are your student to instructor ratios?

We provide a 10:1 student to instructor ratio.

  • What is your Health and Safety protocol?

Please visit our Health and Safety page for more information.

  • Are your staff eCRB certified?

Yes, all of our staff are eCRB certified. Please visit our Health and Safety page for more information.

  • What’s the teacher accommodation like?

If you join us in The Woods, teachers will sleep in single sex bell tents with camp beds, with two teachers per bell tent. You also have your own portaloos, as well as access to our woodland showers throughout your stay.

  • Do you cater for special dietary requirements and food allergies?

We cater for every dietary requirement. We will collect the dietary and medical details for your group prior to the trip.

  • What happens in bad weather?

Being an outdoor provider in this country, we are accustomed to bad weather. Every camp has a large structure (yurt or tipi) for meal-times and activities for the whole group.

  • Do our teachers need to attend the course?

Unlike many providers we run the whole trip, from the moment you step off the bus to the moment you get back on it. This means, as teachers, you can enjoy the trip and take part in the activities. However we do require a male and female teacher per camp, and schools should provide the staff in line with their school's protocol. We do not charge for attending school staff.

  • What are your maximum numbers?

We provide whole year group residentials to large schools. The year group is split into camps of 60 students and many schools have 3 camps of students.

  • What are your minimum numbers?

As each school has their own camp, we require a minimum number of 22.

  • Do you operate all year round?

We operate from April to November.

  • Can you offer any help with organising and launching my trip?

Yes, you will have your own dedicated Account Manager, who will be liaising with you throughout the process. Upon booking, you will also receive your launch pack, as well as resources for school presentations.

  • Will it only be my school on the camp?

Yes, as we provide a personal service to each school. We know every school has different aims and objectives to achieve on a residential school trip, which is why your school will have its own camp. If you are coming with a large year group, you will be divided into 2 or 3 safari-style camps.

  • Can I visit one of the centres before I book?

Yes, although as one of the smaller providers, we get booked up very far in advance, especially during peak weeks, so we recommend coming for a site visit after you have booked, but before your course.

  • Will you visit me at my school?

Yes of course. We offer a personalised service to our schools throughout the school trip process. You can book a visit here. You will always have a dedicated Account Manager at the end of the phone, and never an automated service.

  • How do I book?

Following a discussion or meeting with one of our Account Managers to establish your requirements, we will supply you with a detailed summary of your adventure for you to approve at school. Following your confirmation, we will email you your trip launch pack, which includes a pack for the parents, all risk and insurance documentation, kit lists, directions, and invoice details for your finance team (see terms and conditions here).

  • How do I request a quote?

You can fill out our easy online enquiry form here. Alternatively, you can call us on 03332 000 612, or email us at schools@thebushcraftcompany.com. We are also very happy to visit you at school so that we fully understand your requirements. You can book a visit here.
